Dengue virus RNA binds to various mosquito RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) that regulate viral translation, replication, and assembly. While earlier research focused on specific regions like the 3' untranslated region, this study aims for a more complete understanding of these interactions across the full viral genome. By using ChIRP-MS (a technique that captures RNA-protein complexes), the researchers will pull down viral RNA and identify associated host proteins. This approach provides a broader view of how host factors shape viral infection. These findings could reveal key targets for antiviral strategies.
